Eight things we
believe about wine,
and an app for it.

A short letter, pinned above the desk. We re-read it before every release and after every disagreement.

  1. i.

    Your palate is yours.

Not a crowd average. Not a critic's number. Not a sales channel. Eight sips in, we know your taste — and we keep it.

  2. ii.

    The bottle is the point.

The app is a candle, not a stage. Open it, get your answer, go back to dinner.

  3. iii.

    Be opinionated, never preachy.

A sommelier with a view is useful. A lecturer is exhausting. We pick a bottle. We tell you why. We move on.

  4. iv.

    Wine is patient.

Bottles age in years. The app should respect that — no infinite scroll, no streaks, no nudges to drink something tonight.

  5. v.

    Words matter more than charts.

"Cassis and graphite. Tannins still tight — give it air." That sentence is the product. A radar diagram is just the receipt.

  6. vi.

    No score above 100.

No 105/100 "above-and-beyond." No fake urgency. No mascot gestures. You're an adult, ordering wine.

  7. vii.

    Friends, not a feed.

If you want to share a bottle with someone, do it with someone — by name. We will never build a leaderboard.

  8. viii.

    Drink less, drink better.

A good sommelier saves you money. We hope you spend fewer dollars and more attention.
